Youth Work
Last updated: October 28th, 2010To be a youth worker is to be a friend to young people – a good friend who is a responsible role model and one who can help make a positive difference to young people’s lives.
You will be given the opportunity to prepare youth sessions, and work with children and young people in a supervised setting. This certificate ” an Introduction to Youth Work at level 1″ will prepare you for an apprenticeship or for work as an assistant in a youth setting
Qualities that you will need for youth work:
- Cheerful and good humoured
- Reasonable
- Kind
- Great belief in the “goodness” of young people
- Respect for their dignity
- In order to work in a youth setting, you will need to be enhanced CRB checked
